Relic

I created this piece using a cheap wooden base from The Works painted with chalk paints by DecoArt and PaperArtsy. The seahorse and some cogs are from a mould by Stamperia, the remainder are from a Finnabair Mechanica mould.

I decided this time not to use resin for my mould as I wanted a more weathered look, instead I used plaster which gave me dinks and imperfections. As plaster is quite porous I covered the mould pieces with clear gesso before adding colour.
